For When You Feel Alone

It’s late at night and the tears are flowing. You replay your day and everything you did wrong. Your thoughts move backwards to yesterday, last week, last month, last year… Until you can’t think of anything. You’re just numb. ALONE.

Or maybe you’re in a classroom or office, surrounded by peers, but feel disconnected. In a crowd but completely ALONE.

Or you’re surrounded by friends, telling stories when mid laugh it washes over you like dark wave. ALONE.

I’m here to tell you that you’re NOT alone.

You watch everyone else go out and enjoy life while you watch from your window because you can’t make yourself leave your house.

Me too.

You’re the smart one, but it’s become too much, and you can’t handle the pressure you put on yourself to achieve perfection.

Me too.

You feel lost and don’t know who you are anymore.

Me too.

Everything you planned fell apart, and now you don’t know where to go.

Me too.

You cry at night when no one can hear you or in the shower where you can’t see your own tears.

Me too.

You just break down out of nowhere and you don’t know why.

Me too.

Everything is so overwhelming, and you don’t know how much longer you can handle it.

Me too.

You feel like no one understands what you’re going through.

Me too.

You’ve been feeling like an outcast and wonder if you really have any friends.

Me too.

You feel like you’re broken inside.

Me too.

You feel like something is wrong with you.

Me too.

You just want to scream because what’s going on in your mind is so chaotic, and you don’t understand.

Me too.

You lie awake at night wishing you had been given a normal mind that isn’t terrorized by your demons.

Me too.

You feel like your entire life is covered by a hazy cloud of depression and you don’t know how to get out or how to move forward.

Me too.

You feel like anxiety’s hands wrap around your neck as soon as the lights go off, and you’re paralyzed, unable to breathe.

Me too.

You’ve forgotten what hope feels like, what it feels like to laugh.

Me too.

Maybe you’re searching and need something to remind you what makes it all worth it.

Me too.

Me too.
